 然而你 beat 的并不是 bargain  beat 的意思是“打败”，bargain 的意思是“划算的买卖”。 但 beat a bargain 的意思并不是“打败一个交易”， 它的意思是“讨价还价”，而且并不是形容这件事的结果，而是在形容它的过程： 

She is still beating a bargain with the dealer.

她依旧在和经销商讨价还价。

 与它相对的是 strike a bargain，它的意思是“敲定一笔交易”、“达成一个协议”： 

The government will strike a bargain to make sure of it.

政府会敲定一项交易来确保这件事。
